A tradition that began in the 1920s.

Rigoberto Reyes established the family’s original coffee farm in the 1920s. His son Mauricio continued and expanded that work, passing on a deep connection to the land.

The civil war of the 1980s disrupted that tradition. The family’s land was expropriated, the family went into exile, and coffee trees were destroyed or left untended.

A new beginning in 1991.

Bayardo purchased a small plot of land in 1991 and named it San José. With it came the opportunity to carry the family’s coffee-growing tradition forward.

Today, the story of Finca San José de las Nubes brings together specialty coffee, care for the land, and responsibility to our community.
