WHO WE ARE

A PROUDLY FAMILY OWNED FARM SINCE 1991.

Our goal is to produce high quality specialty coffee to positively impact our community and its people through educational programs. We believe knowledge is power, and we want to bring that into our community. We respect our people, treat them with dignity, and hope to improve their quality of life by providing education, healthcare, clean energy, and nutritional valued meals.

For three generations, the Reyes family has been growing coffee in Nicaragua.

Dating back to the 1920s, the original ‘Finca San Jose’ was established by Rigoberto Reyes, and later expanded by his son Mauricio Reyes.

During the civil war of the 1980s, the farm was expropriated and most of the Reyes family went into exile. The farm was then divided into parcels by the government and eventually all coffee trees were destroyed or perished due to abandonment.

In 1991, longing to re-establish the legacy of his father and grandfather, Bayardo Reyes purchased a small plot of land and named it San Jose to continue with his family’s tradition of growing coffee. Bayardo's vision for the farm is to produce high-quality specialty coffee through social responsibility and sustainable practices.
